This oral history project was created to give students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to reflect on the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene. We wanted to create something meaningful that honors our shared experiences and resilience while leaving a lasting record for future generations. In September 2025, a call to action went out, inviting students and employees to share their Hurricane Helene stories.

This  project will serve as a living time capsule for our community with stories preserved in the Archive. Sharing and hearing one another’s experiences not only helps us heal but also reminds us that we were never truly alone, even in our most difficult moments.
