Location and Facilities

Blue Ridge Community College Archive and Special Collections is located inside the Library in the Killian Building on our Henderson County Campus. Free parking is available in lots D and C. There is handicap parking in front of the Killian Building, and both the building’s doors and library’s doors have push button accessibility. Please see the College’s Henderson Campus webpage for more information.

The Archive has two main locations inside the library: The Archive Room and the Baltiero Brothers Recording Studio. The Archive Room is the primary location and includes staff and volunteer work areas, one digitization station, and our archival storage. There is a designated research table in the Archive Room for appointments. The Baltiero Brothers Recording Studio is where the majority of our digitization services are located, and it is where we conduct oral history interviews.

Both rooms run cold, so we recommend bringing a jacket or sweater for appointments.

Both rooms are open and available to researchers during normal operating hours for the library. The Archivist might not always be present during those hours, so researchers may be assisted by other library staff if they do not have an established appointment. Please be advised that general library staff have limited time and ability to assist with archival questions. There is a strong possibility that researchers will be asked to come back when the Archivist is on campus. If researchers wish to ensure they meet with the Archivist directly, please contact Rachel Quinn at (828)694-4713 or r_quinn150@blueridge.edu to set up a meeting time. Researchers also can request an appointment by using the “Make a Research Appointment” button on the Archive website’s homepage.

Restrooms are available in the Killian Building near the Lakeside Café.
