Children of Perry and Amy Williams
The Williams family did not travel from Spartanburg County, S.C.
Records show that the Williams family joined the Kingdom and helped establish the community. In the 1880 census, they appear in Green River Township, living next to Sarepta Davis, the elderly widow who owned the Oakland Inn and provided housing and work to the Kingdom’s founders when they first arrived.
The Williams household included six children: Mary J. (10), Lawrence (8), Matilda (7), Alice (5), Allen (3), and Sarah (1 month).
Note that Perry’s wife is called “Emma” on this record. This is likely a variation in the spelling or pronunciation of “Amy.”
